According to the news from the press conference of China International Digital Economy Expo 2023 held by Information Office of the People’s Government of Hebei Province on August 8, Hebei Province has vigorously promoted digital industrialization and industrial digitization, guided the deep integration of the digital economy and the real economy, and witnessed an increasing contribution from the digital economy. In 2022, the digital economy in Hebei province reached a scale of 1.51 trillion Chinese yuan, accounting for 35.6% of GDP. The leading role of the digital economy continues to strengthen, becoming an increasingly important driving force for economic growth.

The construction of the digital infrastructure in Hebei is increasingly improving. Hebei province has a scale of 3.22 million online operating servers, ranking fourth nationwide in computing power. The number of 5G base stations has risen from 12th in the end of the 13th Five-Year Plan Period to 7th, with the completion of the Xiong’an International Internet data dedicated channel and the acceleration of the construction of the national computing power hub node in Zhangjiakou for the project of channeling computing resources from the east to the west, providing a solid foundation for the development of the digital economy.

The role of digital support continues to strengthen. In the first quarter of this year, Hebei Province maintained its first place nationwide with a 20.6% cloud adoption rate for industrial equipment, and ranked fourth nationwide with a 61.6% digitization rate of key processes. The development index of the industrial Internet platform ranked sixth nationwide. Great Wall Precision successfully created the first 5.5G flexible factory pilot in China, while Xiong’an Unicom and HBIS Digits were selected for the list of national cross-industry and cross-domain industrial Internet platforms, achieving significant breakthroughs.

In the next step, Hebei Province will promote the construction of digital infrastructure and the digital transformation of traditional infrastructure such as energy and transportation. It will also promote the development of key industry clusters, strengthen the foundation for the development of digital industrialization, further improve and accelerate the industrial Internet platform system, and fully leverage the advantages of the China International Digital Economy Expo platform. Furthermore, efforts will be made to attract global innovative resources and promote the gathering of excellent enterprises, technologies, and talents in Hebei.
